Kindness it turns out, starts with mindfulness.
At first, it might not be immediately obvious how practicing mindfulness could increase our capacity to express kindness. We are now learning that kindness, like willpower and determination - is similar to a muscle which can become fatigued. Over the course of a day, our reserve of kindness gets obscured by mental chatter: thoughts, hopes, fears, worries, frustrations, anger, and judgement. As a result, our kindness is exhausted and our ability to express positivity in the world around us is diminished.
